Silk Reeling Qi Gong Workshop Preview

The gentle spiraling and swirling movements of Silk Reeling allow you to flow like water: fluid and free. It also increases mobility in your joints, relieving stiffness and pain, and managing arthritis.

Silk Reeling (Chansujin) gets its name from the continuous movement a person must make when drawing silk from a cocoon by hand. They must pull the silk in a smooth and continuous manner. If not, it will break.

In the Silk Reeling Workshop, you’ll learn how to strengthen your body through fluid, circular motions that build internal power while enhancing flexibility and balance. Along the way, you’ll uncover one of the foundational movement methods behind the entire Qi Gong tradition.

The Silk Reeling Qi Gong Workshop is for you if:

  • You want to discover the foundational movement method behind Qi Gong.
  • You want to relieve stiffness and pain in your hips, knees, ankles, shoulders, wrists, and hands.
  • You want to learn how to achieve continuous “complete body movement” by utilizing the innate power of the Tan Tien (energy centers).
  • You want to oil your joints by mirroring the movement of a person drawing silk from a cocoon. (Helps with tendons and ligaments, too!)
  • You want to learn gentle yet enlivening movements you can do as a warmup or a complete Qi Gong routine.
  • You want to harness the power of nature by “spiraling” energy in your body, just as trees spiral as they grow and waves spiral as they approach the shore.
