How does Qi Gong work?

氣Qi
energy
功Gong
skill

Qi Gong (say it chee-gong) is an ancient Chinese practice of slow movement and deep breathing that gets your energy flowing.

Ⅱ
  1. Move gently.

Simple, flowing movements anyone can follow, standing or seated. No experience needed.

  2. Breathe slowly.

Slow movement slows your breath. A slow breath tells your body it's safe to let go.

  3. Feel the difference.

Stress, tightness, and tension wash away. You leave calmer, looser, and more like yourself.

Try it now

Breathe in slowly. As you breathe out, let your shoulders drop. You just did a little Qi Gong.

What it does for you

What changes when you practice.

Less stress.

Slow movement and deep breathing tell your body it can stop rushing.

“…I am always peacefully energized.”
Kim Crich

More energy.

The steady kind, not the jittery kind.

“…how revitalized and connected I feel to my inner energy.”
Kamron Keep

A looser body.

Gentle movements ease tightness without strain.

“I love how the flow of movements releases tension in the body…”
Sarah Rutt

A brighter mood.

It's a practice for your emotions as much as your muscles.

“I was feeling a bit lost this year, and this has restored my joy.”
Catherine Doyle

You feel it today.

You don't wait months. You feel it at the end of class.

“What I love most about Qi Gong is how good I feel when I practice.”
Lynn Dancause

A practice for life.

Gentle enough to keep doing for decades.

“I just turned 74 and have never been in better shape…”
Wendy Moose
“Some of the side effects of Qigong practice will be better sleep and less pain.”
Lee Holden
